Advance notice.... For Co-operative Fortnight, Highland Wholefoods and The Co-operative are very excited to be hosting the Scottish premiere of The People and The Olive. It's an inspiring documentary following a group of American marathon runners who ran across the Palestinian West Bank in 2012. Supported by the Palestine Fair Trade Association, the runners helped raise awareness about the struggles of Palestinian fair trade olive farmers in their day-to-day lives and also helped to replant some of the many olive trees that had been uprooted. There will be the opportunity to buy award-winning Palestinian olive oil from Zaytoun and Equal Exchange Co-operatives.

We are delighted that Claire Everhart, one of the marathon runners, will be present and will be taking part in a Q&A session following the film. The session will be chaired by Jean Urquhart MSP, with John Finnie MSP and Stuart Ramsay, Director, The Co-operative Group, also taking part.
